Reflecting on a Year of Gratitude and Celebration – Volunteer Christmas BBQ 2023

As the curtains draw on another remarkable year, we at Palliative Care ACT are taking a moment to acknowledge the profound impact of our Volunteers have on the community. Our annual Christmas BBQ lunch is a cherished tradition, a time when we come together to express our gratitude to the dedicated individuals who selflessly give their time and energy to support Canberrans living with a life limiting illness.

The Volunteer Christmas BBQ lunch held on December 7th was an afternoon to remember. Volunteers, staff, and supporters gathered to celebrate at our Office in Lyneham. The festive ambiance, with twinkling lights and cheerful decorations, set the perfect stage for an afternoon of joy.

A highlight of the evening was the generosity of our esteemed patron, Shirley Sutton. Once again, she demonstrated her support by donating a collection of wonderful gifts for both volunteers and staff. Shirley’s commitment to our cause is truly inspiring, and her contributions have added a special touch to our celebration.

As we bid farewell to 2023, we eagerly anticipate the promise of a new year filled with exciting opportunities for growth and community engagement. We express our deepest gratitude to every volunteer who has been part of our journey, making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

In closing,  the PCACT staff would love to see more and more volunteers joining us for these celebrations and we extend our warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with hope, purpose, and continued collaboration.

Here’s to the volunteers who make our mission possible – thank you for an amazing year, and we can’t wait for the adventures that await in 2024!
