Therapeutic massage

Massage is a way of improving quality of life, especially for people who are suffering from the effects of disease, surgery or treatment. Generally, cancer patients of all ages report that massage (with or without aromatherapy oils) helps them to relax, reduces some of the symptoms of the illness and leaves them feeling more positive and better able to cope with their illness.

Therapeutic massage is a wonderful way for the patients to experience safe touch and nurturing in a healthy way that affirms their humanity.

Palliative Care ACT has the contact details of a hairdresser who is happy to come to Clare Holland House or visit people's homes when the need is identified. Payment arrangements are worked out with the hairdresser depending on people’s circumstance.

If required, PC ACT is able to offer some financial support.

We also have another contact that is happy to go to people’s home in the Woden, Weston and Tuggeranong area as a fee-for-service.

Palliative Care ACT can arrange appointments with the Walking Clinic who will visit clients requiring Podiatry services. There is a charge of $80 which is paid for by Palliative Care ACT.
