ACT Palliative Care Strategy

The ACT Health Directorate's Palliative Care Services Plan 2013-2017 identifies six goals for the ongoing development of palliative care services in the ACT, along with associated strategies to work towards their achievement. In particular these goals relate to issues surrounding education and awareness of palliative care, access to services and continuity of care.

Wide ranging consultation was undertaken during the development of this strategy and involved palliative care service providers, non government organisations, consumers, carers, advocacy groups and clinicians.

The ACT Palliative Care Services Plan 2013-2017 provides a solid base to ensure that best practice care and treatment is provided to Canberrans in a respectful and dignified way.
