Palliative Care ACT is holding its next movie night at Palace Electric Cinema on Sunday 17 September. We are screening Victoria & Abdul, which is based on the extraordinary true story of an unexpected friendship in the later years of Queen Victoria’s remarkable rule.

Victoria & Abdul, stars Judi Dench as Queen Victoria. It is based on the true story of a young clerk, Abdul Karim, who arrives from India to participate in Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. Abdul is surprised to find favour with the Queen herself. As Victoria questions the constrictions of her long-held position, the two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance that her household and inner circle try to destroy. As their friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes, joyfully reclaiming her humanity. The trailer promises a really funny movie and Judi Dench is brilliant.

Tickets are $35 (plus booking fee) and includes a drink, nibbles, ice cream and popcorn. Purchase your tickets online at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/palliative-care-act-movie-night-tickets-36817304549
